Tyrone Thaddeus Saunders was born on August 12, 1964, in New York, New York aka Harlem to Barbara Saunders. Tyrone was raised in The Bronx, New York as a young child and received his education the in the New York City Education System. Tyrone enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, affectionately known as Whitey aka Gramps and Nanny. As a teenager, Tyrone had a collection of comic books, and his first love was Hip Hop. The name T-Tye derived from the love of hip hop at an early age where you could find him emceeing and rapping with The Almighty KG.
Tyrone was a proud father of three children. Tyrone married Linda in April 1994 and from this union they had Tyrone Jr. And Tyra. Tyrone worked in various fields from: being a tutor, mailroom clerk at Guardian Life Insurance Company, retail management, school bus driver, USPS mail carrier, an entrepreneur, and UBER Driver. Tyrone's love for others was unreal, and he was definitely the life of the party. When you met Tyrone, he would have you laughing so hard you would have tears rolling down your cheeks. Tyrone loved nothing more than to spend time with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to cook. He would look at you funny if you didn't know how to make a pot of rice. You would hear him say Nanny taught me how to make perfect rice, he never missed. When it came to macaroni and cheese he would say, " you want to put your Mac and cheese up against mine!" Tyrone enjoyed traveling, whether it was going to the beach, going to a new restaurant, driving his vehicle all over , or flying on a plane. Tyrone was looking forward to a family vacation; He was just discussing it with his sister Crystal aka Nicky and his niece Amani saying, "I don't care where we go let's all just go somewhere, the whole family." He told his mommy, he wanted to go on a cruise with her and his sisters. Tyrone loved dressing, his footwear collection was crazy aka Fly Tye. Let's not forget how much he enjoyed his sports, especially those Dallas Cowboy. You could find him and Chase on the phone discussing the games all day. Tyrone was in a battle with his health and decided he was giving the battle to the Lord. Tyrone was called from labor to reward on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Patricia Lawton, his daughter Gwendolyn E. Guyton and his 1st nephew David Elston . Tyrone leaves behind his mother Barbara Womack-Johnson, his stepfather Raymond Johnson, 2 children his son Tyrone T. Saunders Jr., his daughter Tyra D. Saunders; 5 grandchildren Ashton, Greyson , Cali, Chloe, Kaleb; sisters Patricia aka Trish (Chase Warren) and Crystal aka Nicky Edwards, stepbrother Barry Johnson; Godmother Jacqueline Chandler, Godbrothers' David, Robert aka Bobby, Melvin aka Fella, God sister Felicia aka Spoonie. He also leaves behind nieces Tiffany (Isaiah Maxwell) Chanayse, Amani, Navii, Alayah, Sarai, nephews EJ and Antoine, and a host aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends whom he held dear to his heart.
Memorial services will be scheduled on a later date at the convenience of the family.
The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
