Gail Danek, born on September 6, 1940, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Robert and Mary Scherer, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. Gail was dearly loved by her husband, Stephen Danek, who remains to cherish the memories of their life together. Their bond was filled with more than 65 years of love and support, serving as a testament to their commitment to each other. She is also survived by: her son, Stephen and his partner Terri; her son David, his wife Cindy and their son, Evan; and her sisters Mary and Judy. She had a deep love for her family and all animals, including the family dogs Peppy, Rambo and Teddy, and cats Marmalade, Sara and Bojangles. Gail was a proud and loving mother, attending her sons' football, baseball and basketball games for many years, high school, college and law school graduations, as well as birthdays, weddings, and family celebrations. There will be a private service prior to burial to honor her memory. A burial service will take place at Hollywood Cemetery, situated at 1621 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, New Jersey, at 1:00 PM following the visitation on Saturday. This will be a time for family reflection and remembrance. Gail leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and friendship that will resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. While she will be deeply missed, she will be fondly remembered by all.
