James Michael “Jim” Snee, 66, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday February 11, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Bartonsville. Born December 25, 1959, in Olyphant, Pennsylvania the son of Mary Jane (Doherty) Snee of East Stroudsburg and the late Robert W. Snee. He was a lifetime resident of East Stroudsburg.
Jim was a member of the Church of Saint Matthew, East Stroudsburg, was an active member of the East Stroudsburg Volunteer Fire Department/Acme Hose Company 1 Station 21 for over 40 years, and the American Legion Post #346, East Stroudsburg.
Prior to his retirement, he was a lineman for Met Edison -FirstEnergy Corp. for many years, and prior to that he worked as an electrician for the former Ken Miller Electrical Contractor. His current job that he loved most of all, was being Pap to his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by his daughters Jamie Vandertoorn, and her husband Eric, of Cresco, Allison Dumas of Englewood, CO. Grandchildren Tanner (7) and Charlotte (5).His Siblings, Mary Ellen Lovecchio and her husband Nick of Ambler, Bob Snee and Rob Rohner of Bushkill, Mary Jane Ward and her husband Bob of Allentown, and Mary Kate Snee of East Stroudsburg; Ann Cuff (aunt and Godmother) of Olyphant, Jay Snee (uncle) of Olyphant, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial mass of Christian burial on Monday February 16, 2026, at 10:00am at the Church of Saint Matthew, 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg.There will be a visitation on Sunday February 15, 2026, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg.
