Maurice Baker, born on November 1, 1953, in Vincennes, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in his hometown of Vincennes.
Maurice was a vibrant soul who found joy and solace through his artistic endeavors. He possessed a fondness for drawing, and his creativity blossomed in various forms, including a passion for sculpting. His works reflected his keen eye for beauty and detail, capturing the essence of the world around him.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Maurice had a deep appreciation for music, finding inspiration in the sounds of his favorite band, Pink Floyd. He often shared his musical talent by strumming on a guitar.
Maurice is survived by his son Braun (Lottie) Baker, granddaughter Izabella Chapman, step-grandchildren Chris Peters, Tyler (Meredith) Peters, Carolyn (Caleb Torrance) Peters, and Catherine (Braxton Johnson) Peters, step-great grandchildren Taven Phelps, Salem Peters, Mavis Molina, Carsyn Torrance, Leegan Peters, and Ezra Johnson. Surviving is also his sister Sheryl Litten.
Maurice was the son of Noble and Betty Baker, who precede him in death. He is also preceded in death by his wife Janet Baker, his daughter Brook Baker, and his brothers Steve Baker and Noble Baker III.
