It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary D. Strader, who left us peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on December 30, 1949, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Gary is the son of Thomas and Marion Ruth (Kyle) Strader. He married Penny Hatton on November 8, 2013.
Gary was a proud truck driver for CF Air Freight, a job he took great pride in, and he also ran a small engine shop out of his home. His work ethic and dedication to his craft were second to none. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Gary served his country honorably and carried the values of service and commitment throughout his life. As a devoted member of the Bruceville Christian Church, Gary found a sense of community and purpose.
He cherished his family above all else, always going the extra mile to spoil his beloved grandchildren. Whether it was working crossword puzzles, or sharing laughter, he created a lifetime of memories for them to hold onto.Gary is survived by his loving wife, Penny Strader of Bruceville; his children, Andrea Dugan and her husband Lane of Princeton, IN, Allison Strader of St. Pete Beach, FL, Zachary Strader of Indianapolis, IN, Arthur Tedrow of Princeton, IN, Kathleen Luenebrink of Bruceville, IN, Kristen Cope and her husband Steve of Ragsdale, IN; brother, Scott Strader and his wife Karen of Indianapolis, IN, sisters, Suzanne Plyer and her husband Arthur of Tushka, OK, Joan Hale of Indianapolis, IN, Norma Dee Glover of Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may visit with Gary's family from 4-8pm on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. Memorial contributions may be made to Bruceville Christian Church in Gary's name. Online memories may be shared with Gary's family and friends at www.goodwinsieversfh.com.
