Edwin "Eddie" T. Casper, Jr.., age 73, of Marydel, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at his home.
Eddie was born April 17, 1950 in Dover, De, the son of the late Edwin T. Casper, Sr. and Florence "Flossie" Casper of Felton, De.
Surviving is his daughter Carla Irene "Casper '' Owens and son in-law John P. Owens of Marydel, De, and granddaughter Krystal L. Moore of Marydel, De and grandson Dalton A. Moore of Delaware and sister Patsy Fortney of Forest, Va. Exwife and long life friend Dawn Willey and her husband Daniel Willey of Hartly, De and friends Richard "Rick" Skinner of Magnolia, De and Everett Bickling of Dover, De. and Glen Bell of Camden-Wyoming De and neighbor Roger Burens of Marydel, De. He had many friends and was loved by everyone.
Eddie had a long career in the construction field that he went into during his time at Caesar Rodney High School. After years of being in construction he opened his own business-Casper Construction where he built houses until his retirement. He then went to work as an independent contractor with Lowe's of Dover where he did home installations.
In his off time he loved going to baseball games with his family, he enjoyed fishing and crabbing, going to restaurants with family and friends, car shows, racing stock cars, taking cruises and traveling, working on hot rods, line dancing, cutting grass, woodworking and spending time with family. He was an animal lover and had a true compassion for them. He especially loved his longtime companion Sable, his German Shepherd. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved joking around. The words used to describe him are: genuine, caring, family, loving, supportive, true friend, talented and amazing great guy! He is going to be missed by so many people that he touched the lives of.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fairies Funerals Home Dining Hall, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
Eddie's favorite snacks and refreshments will be served.
