Funeral Service for Edwin C. Christiansen age 87 of Plainview, Nebraska will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2025 at Plainview Methodist Church. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview, Nebraska. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Plainview Methodist Church. Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Plainview is handling the arrangements. Edwin passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Plainview Manor. Edwin Clinton Christiansen was born on October 22, 1937, to Raymond and Goldie (Vogel) Christiansen. Edwin attended country school one mile from where he grew up and graduated from Plainview High School in 1955. In 1957 Edwin married Sandra Johnson and to this union were born 5 children: Julie (died in infancy), Randy, Ron, Rick, and Rob. On January 8, 1985, he married Joy Conger and this union added 3 stepchildren: Wyndie, Donald, and Darrell.

Edwin lived and farmed in Plainview for his whole life. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, skiing, gardening, playing cards, and traveling many places. Ed and Joy spent the last 30+ years enjoying their winters in Texas. His love of ocean fishing provided an abundance of fish, that was enjoyed by his family during the annual Father’s Day Fish Fry.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Christiansen of Plainview, NE; his four children: Randy and Dorothy Christiansen, Ron and Lynn Christiansen, Rick and Shelly Christiansen, Rob and Carla Christiansen, all of the Plainview, NE area. Three stepchildren, Wyndie Gibbins, Donald and Theresa Conger, Darrell Conger all of Casper, WY; 23 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Sister Deloris Horst of Plainview, NE.

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Julie, daughter-in-law Lisa Christiansen and brother-in-law Lyle Horst.
