Mr. Edwin “Eddie” Foster Lineback, 61 of Dobson, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on March 15, 2026. He was born September 24, 1964, in Surry County to the late James Henry Lineback and Maggie Jean Harris Lineback. He loved to go fishing with his brothers. Eddie could tell you any directions to anyplace with no trouble; he knew all of the world events and politics of today’s times, loved cooking, and spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Fern Jane Lineback, Regina Lynn Lineback, and Lisa Lineback Asbell; his brothers, Bobby James Lineback and Victoria, James Henry Lineback, Jr.; James “Bo” Robert Bowman, and Brian Keith Bowman; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; special friends, Blaine Montgomery; Terresa Holiday and Greg Watson; and many more friends and family. In addition to his parents. Eddie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tommy Asbell. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Veteran’s Park in Mount Airy.

“Angels come to the earth to live. They never take; they’re born to give. You’ll not find their treasure here. They only came because we need them near. The soul they carry is their gold. It can’t be bartered, wasted, or sold. Eddie’s gift will forever be the memories he left for you and me.” A poem by his sister, Fern Lineback.
