Edwin S. Henley, a devoted man of God and lifelong entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the age of 87.

A proud native of Selma, Alabama, and longtime resident of Mobile, Edwin was the youngest of eleven children. He was a faithful member of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church for more than 65 years, where he served with distinction as Chairman of the Trustee Ministry.

A self-made businessman, Edwin began his entrepreneurial journey as the owner and operator of a Chevron Service Station in Maysville before founding Reliable Janitorial Services, Inc., which he successfully operated for 45 years. He also established Henley Properties & Rental, LLC, providing single-family homes to families in Mobile and Prichard, Alabama, many of whom called his properties home for decades.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his beloved daughter, Diann Henley Greer. He is survived by six children-Mrs. Loretta (Frederick) Jones, Mr. Tyrone Blackmon, Dr. Sandra Henley, Dr. Kathy Henley Thompson, Dr. Pamela Henley Thompson, and Dr. Telly Russell-along with twenty-one grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
