Edwin Tetsuo Kamidoi, a retired veteran of the United States Army and life-long resident of West Valley City, UT, passed away peacefully in his home on January 4, 2023 at the age of 79 surrounded by his loving family.
Edwin is survived by his spouse Francisca Kamidoi; his children, Angela Kamidoi Cloud, Francisco NG, Liliana Pressley and Arturo NG. His brothers, Daniel Kamidoi, Burton Kamidoi and Dwight Kamidoi. Preceded in death by his son Alfredo Kamidoi
Edwin was born in Maui on June 20, 1943 to Junishi Kamidoi and Thelma Yoshida. He was stationed in Colon, Panama where he met and married Francisca on July 23, 1968. They later moved to Dugway, Utah where they began to raise their family. After he retired from the Army, they moved to West Valley City, Utah where he acquired a job with the Salt Lake City school district working and teaching adults with disabilities.
Edwin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed cooking for his family. He also enjoyed fishing with his brothers and children. He was also known to email information to his children what he found interesting and if they could help them with a problem they had, he would also google it and send links. He liked being involved with family activities with his grandchildren, often playing and talking with them and just enjoying being surrounded by family. He had a very gentle and patient soul and will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday January 13, 2023, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. A Viewing will be held 10-11:45 a.m. prior to Funeral Services.
Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
