Edwin McIntosh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowers Funeral Home - Houlton on Jul. 28, 2025.
LITTLETON - Edwin Ray McIntosh, 93, died July 25, 2025, at home with his family by his side. He was born on February 11, 1932, in New Limerick, the son of Elwyn and Gladys (Sibley) McIntosh.

Ed graduated from Houlton High School in 1950. He served his country in the Maine Army National Guard, the United States Navy and retired after 20 years from the United States Air Force where he was a flight engineer. Aviation was his passion which led him to obtain his private pilot's license. He later bought a Cessna 172 Skyhawk and thoroughly enjoyed his time in the sky. After retiring from the military, he spent the majority of his working career as a customs broker. When not working, Ed looked forward to "hunting trips" with friends, using his camera more than his rifle due to his love of animals and nature.

He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Maine and recently received his 50 years of service pin. Ed was also a Shriner and belonged to the Anah Highlanders, playing the bagpipe representing the Anah Shriners.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia (Olmstead) McIntosh; two daughters, Roberta "Robbie" McIntosh of Houlton, and Pamela Pope and her husband, Christopher, of Freeport, Maine; one son, Edwin W. "Spike" McIntosh, of San Francisco, California; three grandchildren, Katherine Walker, Sarah Delano, and Jack Walker. He also left behind his beloved canine companion, Sully.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Gwendolyn Callnan.

On behalf of the family, a special thanks is extended to Northern Light Home Care and Hospice for their exceptional and loving care of our husband, father, and grandfather in his final days.

A graveside service will be held at the Littleton cemetery on July 31, 2025 at 10 AM with Pastor Ginny Urbanic officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Ed's memory to a charity of choice. To share memories and condolences please visit www.bowersfuneral.com
