It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Edwin Bruce Miller who left us peacefully on September 1, 2025. Edwin lived an extraordinary 98 years filled with love, dedication, strength, wisdom and cherished connections. He was a shining light in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Edwin was born on May 12, 1927. A proud veteran of World War II, he served his country and the US Army with honor during one of the most pivotal times in history.
Throughout his life, Edwin was known for his sociable nature and the wisdom he readily shared with those around him. He was deeply involved in the Masons and the Shriners organizations that reflected his commitment to fellowship and charitable work. He served as Past Potentate, Past Worthy Patron, and Trustee of Lake City Lodge, along with being honored by his brothers for nomination of the Distinguished Service Award. His presence was a constant source of inspiration within these communities.
Known throughout Oswego as a devoted salesman at Goldberg’s Furniture, he touched countless lives with his warmth, kindness, and genuine ability to connect with everyone he met.
Edwin shared many years of love and family with his first wife Betty J. Miller and later his second wife and companion, Millie Wood. A devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is predeceased by his wife Betty J. Miller and beloved daughter, Susan Miller Rourke. He is survived by his son in law Kevin P. Rourke, grandchildren Amy Campolieto (Nathan Wohlgemuth), Kristopher Rourke (Katie Hyland), and Kevin Joseph Rourke (Jamie Springer), as well as many great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were touched by his long and meaningful life. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Mt Adnah Cemetery, 706 E Broadway Fulton, NY 13069. Foster Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
