Edwin “Ed” Nelson Sr., age 99, of Gallatin, entered into rest on Friday, November 14, 2025, in the comfort of his own home.
He was born on September 14, 1926, in Hartman, Arkansas.
As a young man, Ed served the United States Army during World War 2. Following his military service, he worked as a machinist for Peterbilt, until he retired. Ed was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He instilled strong values of hard-work and courage in his family.
Ed was private by nature and his old fashion ways were charming. His memory will be truly treasured by his family and he will be dearly missed.
Edwin Nelson Sr. Is survived by his children, Eddie Nelson, Geary Nelson, and Rhonda Morgan (Thomas); grandchildren, Jesse Vanatta, Lacy Barker (Jake), Eddie Nelson Jr.; and great-grandson, Aceson Cravens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Nelson; father, Jesse Nelson; mother, Bertha Nelson; sisters, Evy, Maggie; and brothers, Fred and Carl.
Visitation will be held at Generation Changers Church - Nashville (located: 224 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Nashville, TN, 37214), on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M.
Burial in Mt Juliet Memorial Gardens (located: 654 W Dision st., Mt Juliet, TN, 37122) will immediately follow
