Donna Palmer Nelson

Donna Palmer Nelson, 80, widow of James Sadler Nelson, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at her home.

Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Howell W. and Norma Creamer Palmer. Donna was a graduate of Erskine College and received a master's degree from Clemson University. She was a retired elementary school teacher with over 30 years of service. Donna enjoyed attending the Silver Sneakers Class at the YMCA. She was a member of the Anderson Lions Club where she served as secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson where she served as a Deacon, sang in the church choir for many years, and was a member of the Eagles Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Burnett and husband Tom Burnett; brother, Jimmy Palmer and wife Kate Salley Palmer; sister, Jane Dill and husband Rev. Ken Dill; brother-in-law, David Nelson; a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and her fur baby, Zola.

Following a family committal service, the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, at First Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church conducted by Dr. Jim Wooten and Rev. Ken Dill.
