Edwin Aron Peterson, 83, a lifelong resident of DeQuincy, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones.

Born July 1, 1942, and raised in DeQuincy, he lived a full and meaningful life marked by deep love for his family and faithful service to his Lord and Savior. He taught auto mechanics for 32 years, with 27 of those years at DeQuincy High School, where he was respected and appreciated by coworkers and students alike.

A longtime member of Houston River Baptist Church, Edwin was a man of faith whose quiet strength and gentle spirit were evident in every aspect of his life. He enjoyed traveling, camping, family get-togethers, and anything that took him to the nearby lakes and rivers. He especially loved gardening, often spending countless hours tending to his crops and enjoying the beauty of nature.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Becky Peterson; sons, Brock Peterson and wife Brandi, Brett Peterson and wife Jenafer; sister, Connie Fontenot; grandchildren, Colten Wright and wife Kacie, Dylan Armstrong and husband Tristen, Kayden Peterson, and Layton Peterson; and three cherished great-grandchildren, Bristol and Briar Armstrong and Haisley Wright.
Edwin was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brent Peterson; his parents, Johnnie and Nora Peterson; and his mother-in-law, Alice Johnson East.

Edwin's legacy of love, faith, and hard work lives on through his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 22nd, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Houston River Baptist Church 110 W Houston River Rd. and on August 23rd, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Houston River Baptist Church 110 W Houston River Rd.
