Edwin S. Statkiewicz, 91, died Friday, February 19, 2021, at the St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary L. (Harmon) Statkiewicz. Born and raised in Norwood, he was a 1949 graduate of Norwood High School and was a member of the Norwood High School Football Team. Following his graduation from high school, he joined the US Navy and faithfully served from November of 1950 until September of 1954, with his primary duty assignment on the USS Mount Olympus. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working as a Carpenter for Local 535 in Randolph and the Cliff Compton Door Company in Braintree, where he continued working until his retirement at age 62. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1967. Ed was a gifted handyman and enjoyed helping family and friends with home improvement projects. He was also a gifted woodworker and a faithful and devout Catholic. Ed was a dedicated father and "Grampy" who enjoyed attending the games and events of his grandchildren. He also enjoyed his trips to San Francisco to visit with his son Carl and family. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod and going to the beach. He will be remembered for his love of family and his easy-going manner. The Statkiewicz family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at the ICU 5 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton that lovingly cared for Ed for the past week with professionalism, compassion and support. Mr. Statkiewicz is survived by his beloved children, Lorna L. Statkiewicz of Stoughton, Edwin C. Statkiewicz and his wife Lisa of Bridgewater, William J. Statkiewicz of Stoughton, Brian J. Statkiewicz and his longtime partner Debra Parker of Mansfield and Carl Statkiewicz and his wife Suzanne of CA. He was the loving Grampy of Ryan, Sara, Brayden, Tess, Laurel and Margot Statkiewicz. Ed was the brother of Alfreda Grosso of Norwood and the late Henry and Leonard Statkiewicz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Due to Covid restrictions, private family services will be held with burial at Highland Cemetery in Norwood. Donations in Ed's memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) of the Bay Area, 135 Main St, Suite 1030, San Francisco, CA 94105.

To Lorna, Eddie, Billy, Brian and Carl, my condolences to you all. I remember all the times sitting with your mom and dad at the Little League games. Your dad was a friendly, quiet man that we had the pleasure of knowing. May he rest in peace.
