Edwin Daniel Vincent

Edwin Daniel "Danny" Vincent, 76 of Garden City Beach passed away peacefully at his home on September 21, 2024, with his loving and devoted wife by his side. He was born on August 21, 1948 in Charlotte, NC, the son of late Richard Harold Vincent and Betty Redmond Vincent.
In 1967, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, where he proudly served his country in Vietnam with Mike Company 3/7, 1967-1968. He was then stationed in Cuba.
After his discharge from the Marines, he was employed with Duke Power Company in Charlotte, NC where he worked as a lineman. He attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC where he received his HVAC degree and in 1976 he moved his family to Garden City Beach where he opened his own HVAC company Vincent's Heating and Air Conditioning Co. Inc, which he operated for 39 years.
Danny loved his family and was very proud of his girls, grandchildren and great granddaughter, he never missed a dance recital, cheerleading, gymnastic event, musical recital or ball game, he even enjoyed being a cub scout leader, boy scout leader, coaching baseball and football.
He always made time to enjoy life doing his favorite hobbies, boating, fishing, shrimping, hunting, go cart racing, watching the Gamecocks football and spending time with his family and friends.
His love of racing began with his father at an early age. They would go to Nascar races and work on cars together, which eventually led to racing cars of his own. He started with drag racing at Shuffletown in Charlotte, NC, dirt track racing in Conway and then Late Model Stock car racing at Myrtle Beach Speedway. He even raced IMSA Series at Daytona and Watkins Glenn.
He was a member of Belin United Methodist Church, a member of the VFW Post 10420 and Murrells Inlet Masonic Lodge #368.
Left to cherish Danny's memory is his beloved wife of 55 years Sharon Younger Vincent, daughters Amy Elizabeth Vincent and fiancé Troy Strickland of Myrtle Beach, Dana Vincent Smith and husband Tim of Myrtle Beach, grandson Waden Delos Santos and wife Abbie of Myrtle Beach; granddaughter Payton Elizabeth Smith, of Myrtle Beach, and great granddaughter Brooklyn Analise Delos Santos of Myrtle Beach; Sister-in-laws Leslie Y Haag and husband Frank Haag of Carmel Indiana, Julie Y. Jerman of Charlotte, NC, Lori C Younger of Charlotte, NC; Brother-in-law Glenn Jerman of Charlotte and nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25th at Burroughs Funeral Home between 6-8 pm. Services will be held at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 26th at 1pm with burial following at Belin Memorial United Church Cemetery.
