Edwin Arthur Watson, born October 23, 1943 in Denver Colorado, to Eddy Edwin Watson and Mary Connor Watson, passed away quietly November 12, 2025 in Alliance, Ohio.
He is survived by his three children, D. Scott Watson, Matthew E. Watson and Molly K. Watson. Eddie grew up in Denver Colorado, learning the Automobile upholstery trade from his father. He spent his life as a master classic car and hot-rod upholstery and was well known and regarded in the classic car collector community, having his own successful business for over 40 years. Eddie was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country, with honor, from July 1964 to July, 1966. Edwin served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Permit SS-594, Thresher class submarine and spoke highly of his service and his love and pride for The United States military. Edwin achieved the rank of E-3 and was awarded the National Defense Medal for outstanding service and duty to The United States of America.
Eddie met his second wife, Catherine Carr, in Denver Colorado; they were wed April 10, 1976. Ed and Cathy remained faithfully and lovingly in wedlock until her tragic passing in 2023. Eddie was a devoted husband and father to his three children and had a genuine love and passion for American automobiles and Hot-Rods, having worked as a skilled tradesman and artisan in the U.S. auto industry.
Ed loved Rock and Roll, Folk and Country music, Coca-Cola, Cheeseburgers and Apple pie, truly an American son.
Ed was not a deeply religious man, though his wife Catherine was a devoted member of The United Presbyterian Church. Ed lived a simple but dedicated and devoted life, having no scandals, infidelities or run-ins with law enforcement throughout his entire life.
Ed will be missed dearly by his family and many friends. May he and Cathy rest in the arms of God and spend their eternity together in the light of one another’s love and friendship.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
