Edwin Wayne Whisler

Edwin Wayne Whisler, Jr., 81, of Morgantown died on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV after a battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on October 13, 1943 in Morgantown, WV, and grew up in the Cheat Lake area. Ed was also known as Butch to family and long-time friends.
Ed is survived by sons David (Mary) Whisler of Gladesville, WV and Timothy (Stephanie) Whisler of Morgantown, WV, granddaughter Hannah Whisler, several nieces and nephews, as well as former wife, Ruth Mullens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Phyllis Whisler, son Steven Whisler, sister Linda Steele, and former wife Donna Whisler.
Ed graduated from University High School in Morgantown in 1961. He was well known in the Morgantown area for his skilled workmanship as owner of Whisler Floor Covering. He also worked at various times for Sanders Floor Covering, GCO, Lowes, Advanced Auto, and Walmart.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the caring staff of the 8SE floor at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Your kindness and care made a difficult time a little easier to bear.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
