Ronnie Wayne Mongold

Ronnie Wayne Mongold, age 76, formerly of Fort Ashby and Maysville, WV, passed away on February 19, 2026, at Majestic Care of Hopemont in Terra Alta, WV.

Born January 11, 1950, he was the son of the late Homer "Max" Mongold and Minnie "Pauline" Mongold.

Ronnie grew up amidst the Spring Run Trout Hatchery, where he surely developed his love of the outdoors and the beauty of the West Virginia mountains and streams. He served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was also a dedicated member of Local 45 Brotherhood of Boilermakers for 47 years, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and loyalty to his trade and fellow brothers.

Known for his lively spirit, quick wit, and steadfast friendship, Ronnie brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression wherever he went.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carole Jean Mongold (Swick), and his eldest son, Kevin Wayne Mongold.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Jonathan Mongold; his daughter, Miranda Mongold; six cherished grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be welcomed to pay their respects at a memorial service at Falls Assembly of God Church, located 5266 Knobley Road, Maysville, WV, on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who shared in Ronnie's life and hold dear the many memories made with him.
