Edwin Keith Williams, 90, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on June 19, 2024.

Edwin was born on November 10, 1933 in Strong, Arkansas to Ora Odessa Russell and Benjamin Perry Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Charles, Perry, and Jimmy; and three sisters: Reba, Wilma, and Ruth. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Inez Draper Williams; son, Michael Williams; daughters, Keitha Williams Bailey (Matt) and Michelle Williams Cranford (Rusty); grandchildren: Lauren, Amber, Victoria, Zach (Becca), John, Jade, Ruby, Ainslee, Rhett, Rylee, David, and many nieces and nephews.

Edwin graduated from El Dorado High in 1952, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served four years as an Aviation Machinist Mate. After returning to El Dorado he began working for El Dorado News Times and married the love of his life, Inez. He earned his bachelors degree from Henderson State University and after moving to Benton, began working for the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Little Rock where he would stay until retirement. Edwin was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Benton for 50 years.

Edwin loved traveling, singing, and serving as a song leader for his beloved men’s Sunday school class. His loyalty and devotion to his family was always evident and he will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St. in Benton. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Malvern.
