Adlin Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Mar. 12, 2026.
Adlin Agatha Williams, 93, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. Born in Gayle, Jamaica, she was the cherished daughter of the late Hopeton Gabbidon and Albertha Marsh. From her earliest days, Adlin embodied kindness, generosity, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone she encountered.

Adlin's life was guided by her close and personal relationship with her Lord. Her faith was her foundation, shaping her character and the way she cared for others. She lived with grace, humility, and a quiet strength that inspired those around her.

After migrating to Canada, Adlin eventually settled in Connecticut in the late 1960s-first in New Haven, then Hartford, and finally Bloomfield, where she built a warm and welcoming home for her family. For more than 30 years, she worked with the Visiting Nurses Association as a nursing aide and caregiver. Her compassion, patience, and dedication made her a beloved presence in the lives of countless patients and families.

Adlin found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. She loved spending time with her family, visiting local beaches and parks, and traveling back to Jamaica whenever she could. A talented seamstress, she enjoyed knitting and sewing, creating clothing and gifts for family and friends. In the kitchen, she was known for her delicious baked goods-especially her fruit cakes, coconut drops, and her famous fried dumplings. She also loved traditional Jamaican foods such as fried plantains and fish, dishes that brought comfort and connection to her roots.

Music was one of Adlin's great pleasures. She enjoyed oldies from the 1960s, from the sweet, soulful sounds of Sam Cooke to the rhythms of ska and reggae that filled her home with warmth and nostalgia.

Adlin was a wonderful listener and a source of emotional support for many. As a mother, she created cherished memories-taking her children to Elizabeth Park, Riverside Amusement Park, and local beaches. She encouraged education, hard work, and dedication, values she instilled deeply in her children and grandchildren.

Her love for her grandchildren was boundless. She often traveled to New York to spend weekends and holidays with them, and she made frequent trips to Georgia, sometimes staying for weeks at a time. Her presence brought joy, comfort, and a sense of home wherever she went.

Adlin leaves to celebrate her memory her children Elaine Hutchinson, Rosalie Williams, and Warren Kurten; and her beloved grandchildren Jalen Hutchinson, Kayla Hutchinson, Catherine Kurten, and Christina Kurten; along with extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her warmth, wisdom, and love.

Her life was a testament to kindness, faith, and devotion. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched.

In addition to her parents, Adlin was also preceded in death by her siblings Reggie Gordon, Tensie Gabbidon Henry, and Pearl Gordon.
