Colin Roberts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.
Colin "SNAGA" L. Roberts, 49, of Windsor, CT, was taken from us far too soon on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Hartford, CT, where he was well known and deeply loved.

Colin was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 19, 1976, to Elsaida Carr (née Kidd) and the late Sherwin Roberts. He was known for his hard work, his indomitable spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. Colin was a devoted son, father, brother, and friend who lived life to the fullest and was always willing to lend a hand. He was known for his warm smile, welcoming hugs, and the humility he showed to everyone he met.

Colin was the owner of CR Landscape, a full-service landscaping, tree service, and snow removal business. He worked as a skilled tree cutter and was known for his ability to safely fell trees of any size. His work kept him close to the outdoors. He also had a deep passion for fishing, a passion which he had dreams of passing on to his children. Being a father was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he cherished teaching his sons about life, the great outdoors, and the values he believed in.

Colin loved long road trips and became known for them among family and friends. You couldn't think of driving long distances without first calling Colin. Whether a car needed to be delivered to Florida, someone needed help moving across the country, or a vehicle needed to be brought back home, Colin was the one people relied on. He was always dependable and ready to help, never hesitating to get on the road for someone in need.

For Colin, helping others was never an obligation…it was simply who he was.

Colin was a survivor and never took people for granted. Despite many obstacles, he overcame the odds, stayed humble, and never held grudges. He loved being around people and made friends wherever he went, treating everyone with the same kindness and respect.

He is survived by his beloved children, Nicolas Roberts of Windsor and Judah English of Hartford; his mother, Elsaida Carr of Windsor; two sisters, Karja Carr and her husband, Louis Sar of Washington, DC, and Doreen Roberts of Jamaica; eight brothers, Craig Francis of Florida, Dwane Carr of Windsor, and Carlington Peynado Carr, Jean Kayemiheto Carr, Anthony Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Orville Roberts, and Derrick Roberts all of Jamaica; a special nephew, Craig Francis Jr.; a special niece, Kayla Francis; his maternal grandmother, Alice Dilsook of Florida; and his aunts, Delcie Smith, Amanda Thompson and her husband Hubert, Daphne (Kidd) Duckie, Sonia Kidd and her partner Wayne Saunders, and Paula Keene and her husband Everton Keene; two uncles, Joseph Joshua Star and Keith Duckie; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.

His family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 6-8 p.m., and on Saturday, March 28, 9-10 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, March 28th, following the viewing, at 10 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Colin lived with resilience, kindness, and an open heart toward everyone he met. His memory will remain a blessing to all whose lives he touched.
