Millicent Minott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services - Bloomfield on Mar. 18, 2026.
Our Beloved Matriarch and Everlasting Light.

On March 13, 2026, Millicent Elaine Minott was received into the arms of the Lord. Millicent was born on June 5, 1952, in Cornwall Barracks, Portland, Jamaica and moved to the United States in the late 1990s, in search of greater opportunity for her family. She worked tirelessly, often holding three jobs, determined to build a better future. Through her perseverance and unwavering commitment, she was able to file for and bring her six children and extended family to the United States, opening doors and creating opportunities that once seemed out of reach.

Millicent was a devoted mother and matriarch who cherished her family and friends deeply. Her love, wisdom, and strength shaped the lives of those around her and will continue to live on through the generations she nurtured.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. Millicent lived a life marked by strength, resilience, and a deep love for her family and friends. She lived 73 years, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through those she loved.

Millicent is survived by her mother, Vashti Smith; thirteen siblings, her six children: Charline Audrey Burrell-McQueen, Juliet Sylvia McLean, Sophia Antoinette Smith, Neville Earle Minott, Deloney Deblyn Williams, and Michael Anthony Minott; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Millicent Elaine Minott will forever be remembered as a matriarch, a mother, a grandmother, and a guiding light to all who knew and loved her. Her love, strength, and sacrifices will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

May she rest in eternal peace.
