ALPLAUS- Eileen Doyle Mullaney Beard, 97, of Alplaus, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in New York City and was the daughter of the late John F. and Theresa Doyle. Eileen was predeceased by her husband’s Dudley Mullaney and Arthur Beard, and her sons, Brian Mullaney and Neil Mullaney. She is the cherished mother of Dennis (Vicki) Mullaney M.D., Kathleen (Rick Fleming) Mullaney and Elizabeth Mullaney Walker. Eileen was the mother-in-law of Kathryn Mullaney, Roxanne Mullaney, Judy Mullaney and Darla Mullaney. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Eileen was a longtime employee of Niskayuna School District, most notably serving as the secretary to the high school principal for many years. Eileen volunteered at Sunnyview Hospital for 28 years and many years at other organizations.
Born and raised in New York City, Eileen loved its shows and museums. As a child, she visited the Museum of Natural History or public library frequently. Eileen enjoyed the beach but couldn’t swim, liked gardening, and loved taking money from casinos. Her greatest joy was her family, particularly her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grandma, or “GG”, had a heart as big as New York City and remembered everyone’s birthday. She was heartbroken by the loss of “her boys” Brian and Neil and the family is comforted knowing she has gone to see them.
Eileen wished to thank Dr. Cindy Chan and the Community Care team for their extraordinary care.
