Sanford - Eileen "Pat" Gerhart, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 just eight days shy of her 99th birthday.
Pat was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on November 19, 1926. She was the fourth of five children born to John and Katherine York. As a young girl, she described herself as a tomboy- loving the outdoors, helping with farm chores, and trying to outdo her brothers at every opportunity. Because of this they nicknamed her "Pat".
On December 24, 1942, at the age of 16, she married the love of her life, John Gerhart. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years together and raised two children, Johnny and Jill. As a stay-at-home mom, she was active in her children's activities and was often the organizer. As the children got older, she worked at Dow Corning as a project engineer secretary for eight years. After retirement, Pat and John spent their winters in Florida, where Pat enjoyed oil painting, golfing, fishing, and working in a women's clothing store.
To her family and friends, Pat will be remembered for her infectious sense of humor, her great cooking skills, her youthful energy, her classy appearance, and her devotion to her friends and family.
Pat is survived by her devoted children, Johnny (Judy) Gerhart and Jill (Micheal) Burns. She will be deeply missed by her children; her six grandchildren, Jamie (Richard) LeViere, Martha (Thad) Lee, Luke (Stacy) Gerhart, Chris (Angie) Burns, Ryan Burns, and Matt (Lindsay) Burns; her ten great-grandchildren, Andrew (Kristin) Terrill, Jessica (Brett) Noack, Tara Lee (Josh Loree), Tanner Lee, Ben Gerhart, Olivia Gerhart, Mariah Burns, Kara Burns, Emery Burns, and Harper Burns; her great-great-grandchildren, Kyron and Krewe Terrill, and Ella and Emily Noack.
