Eileen Ellen Hazel Burtt James

Eileen James passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2025, at the age of 100 (26 Again!). Beloved wife of the late Robert H. James. Loving mother of David & Joan James, Barbara & Mark Batko, Russell & Darlene James and Brian & Nataliya James. Proud and loved grandmother of Victoria (Tori) Batko and Jesse James. Favorite Aunt to her nieces Bonnie Candler and Nancy Mattis. Best friend of Paula Wallace and the late Dorothy Newland. Cherished sister of Norma Beck and the late Jim Burtt, Bill Burtt, Florence Banks, Dorothy Goodfellow, and Ted Burtt. Eileen will be missed by many nieces and nephews, friends and extended family.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Eileen had many adventures through the years. She moved to Michigan in 1960, raised her family, and owned and operated a family-owned charter helicopter service for several years. Eileen had often said how fortunate she was to travel and see the world and if you get a chance to go, you should take it. She was always ready for a trip whether it was visiting family and friends in Canada or more adventurous. Eileen will be missed by all who knew her, she will be remembered for her sharp wit, kindness and huge heart. We are grateful for all the time we had with her and the countless memories made. She will forever be 26 Again! in our hearts.
Visitation at UHT Funeral Home in Westland on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 1pm until 6pm. A private funeral service will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (one of her favorite charities) in Eileen's memory.
