Eileen “Joyce” Keough, of Hingham, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, December 31, 2023 in South Shore Hospital in Weymouth following a period of declining health. She was 79.
Joyce was born in Waltham on February 11, 1944, a daughter of the late William and Alice (Cox) Keough. She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton and went on to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Curry College. She was a beloved school teacher in the Waltham Public School system for many years retiring from Fitzgerald Elementary School.
Joyce had been a lifelong Waltham resident before moving to Linden Ponds in Hingham ten years ago.
She leaves her children, Roger Dolbier, III (Erin) of Wellington, Florida, Bill Dolbier (Toniann) of Staten Island, New York, Jim Dolbier of Reading, Kristen Dolbier of Winter Haven, Florida; her grandchildren, Jenna Dolbier, Julia Hogeland, Nicholas Dolbier, Patrick Dolbier, Jessica Murphy, Brandon Dolbier, and Alexis Dolbier; her brother and sister, Margaret Hogan (John) and Edward Keough (Patricia); and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
She was also the sister of the late William Keough, Jr., Paul Keough, and Bernadette Hughes.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joyce’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, January 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
