Michael Andrew Priestman, of Lynn, died Monday, March 16, 2026 at his home. He was 65.
Born in Waltham on November 4, 1960, Michael was the son of the late Arthur Jean Priestman and Jean Frances (Ryan) Priestman. He was raised in Waltham, attended Our Lady's School and graduated from Waltham High School with the Class of 1979. He continued his education at Cambridge College, earning both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Counseling.
Cooking and baking were some of the activities he enjoyed. He would spend Sunday's preparing his meals for the week and frequently brought his home-cooked creations to share with his colleagues at work. He was a cat lover, and an avid Boston Bruins fan. Michael liked to travel and his favorite destination was Montréal.
The last years of his life he worked for C.T.C. of Lynn. Michael devoted the last couple decades of his life to counseling people with substance abuse issues and helped to turn their lives around. He will be greatly missed by his family and all the people he has helped.
He is survived by his sisters, Donna Jean St. Pierre of Attleboro and Shawna Kaye Levine (Jeffrey) of Wayland; his brother Kevin Priestman (Marisa) of Framingham; his nieces and nephews Diana Priestman, Joshua St. Pierre, Andrew Levine (Charlotte Niedermann), and Melanie Levine (David Arbeiter); and his great-nieces Frances and Hariett Levine.
Family and friends will honor and remember Michael’s life by gathering for visiting hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by his Funeral Service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later date.
