Cheryle Suzanne (Bouvia) Priestman, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Star Hospice House in Lakewood, NY.
She was born on July 15, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa to the late Elizabeth Mansfield and Duffy Bouvia. Cheryle graduated from East High School in 1959, followed by Stewart's School of Hairstyling.
After working as a hairstylist for a few years, she worked part time in retail before returning to school to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant. She loved helping people and enjoyed doing so until her retirement. She was also an avid animal lover, who became very involved in animal rescue, helping as many animals as she could over the years.
Surviving are her children, Andrew (Deanne) Priestman of Vancouver, WA, Dana Priestman of Jamestown, NY, and Amy (Chad) Weger of Boyd, TX; grandchildren, Connor Flores and Sophie Weger, who were the lights of her life; siblings, John (Sandy) Mansfield, Jim (Carlene) Mansfield, and Maribeth Klein; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a private family memorial at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750 or to a local animal shelter or rescue. To share your condolences please visit www.lindfuneralhome.com.
