Wayne J. Priestman, 73, of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully March 23, 2025, at his home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1951, in Nanticoke. Wayne grew up on Ridge Street in Nanticoke, and attended Nanticoke schools, graduating in 1970. He retired from the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority in 2012.
Wayne was always busy. If he wasn't busy on a home renovation, he was out at the family cabin in Red Rock enjoying the peace and tranquility of nature. He also enjoyed frequenting local restaurants, travelling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Everyone who knew Wayne will remember him as a fun person to be around. Always quick-witted and kind, he had a story for everything, most of which ended in roaring laughter. His giant smile could illuminate a whole room.
Surviving is his sister, Lynda Naperkowski, Wilkes-Barre Township; nieces and nephews: Gina (Brian) Schwartz, Dori Suda, Dina Turner, Ashli Maschefski, Joseph R. Naperkowski, Lydia (AJ) Schmidt, Richard (Jennifer) Priestman, Ann Yosh, Erin (Jim) Moran, Nicole (Jeremy) Morrow, Jeremy (Penny) Robbins and Megan (Rob) Scerbo; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jean (Wermuth) Priestman; brothers, Richard and Fred Priestman; and great-niece, Holly Priestman.
Private services will be held at the graveside in Hanover Green Cemetery. There will be no viewing or public visitation.
Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke.

My Deepest Sympathy to all of Wayne's family. He and I graduated from Nanticoke in 1970. In 9th grade he and I and 2 others were good friends. All 4 of us were all in the same homeroom that year. Wayne was a kind quiet person. I was so shocked and sad to see that he passed away. We seem to be losing alot of people from our class. I will remember Wayne in my prayers.
RIP Wayne!
