Eileen Schaaf

Eileen Bundy Schaaf, age 102, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was born in Erie on June 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Norman and Regina (Pfeffer) Bundy and her stepfather, Harry Gordon.

Eileen was a lifelong Erie resident and graduated from the former St. Benedict Academy in 1941. She was previously employed by A&B Wallpaper then became a full-time homemaker and stay-at-home mom.

For many years Eileen was an active member of St. Mary's R.C. Church where she served as a lector, eucharistic minister, and president of the ladies' auxiliary until transferring her membership to St. Stanislaus Parish where she continued her lector and eucharistic duties.

Eileen was also a lifetime member of the St. Mary's Club and a social member of the Third Street Polish Falcons. She was also a member of the Genealogical Society, an avid bowler until the age of 94 and enjoyed sewing, travelling, and caring for her cats.

In addition to her parents and stepfather, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Schaaf; brother, Harry Gordon and his wife, Agnes; son-in-law, Milt Neal; brother-in-law, Joseph Schaaf, and sister-in-law, Madeline Logan and her husband, Frank.

Eileen is survived by her son, William Schaaf (Maria Ines); daughter, Reine Neal; and close family friend, Mary Beth Schrenk.

The Schaaf Family would like to thank the staff of Fairview Manor for the wonderful care she received the year that she was there and especially, Jennifer, for taking her under her wing.

Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, LLP, 845 East 38th St., on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to any animal shelter of the donor's choice.
