Eileen Mary Schlee, aged 82, passed away on January 15, 2026, after a sudden battle with flu and pneumonia. She departed peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice surrounded by loved ones.
Born on November 24, 1943, Eileen Mary Schlee lived in Ronkonkoma most of her life, having moved from Queens when she was 6. Shortly after getting married, she moved to 591 Johnson Avenue where she raised her children with her beloved husband Mike. After 55 years on Johnson Avenue, she moved to Atria Hertlin Place on Portion Road.
Throughout her life, Eileen Mary Schlee was a loving, kind and compassionate woman. For many years, Eileen was a member of the Ronkonkoma Improvement Organization (RIO) and loved going down to the lake to listen to a concert with Karin and Scott or have an ice cream cone. She also loved the many Ronkonkoma parades down Hawkins Avenue for Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and other holidays over the years.
Eileen Mary Schlee is survived by her loving family, including daughters Kristine, Karin, Keri and Katherine, sons-in-law Scott, Andrew and William, and her grandchildren Katherine, Michael, Thomas and Emily. Eileen had many nephews and nieces, including Richard, Michael, Carl, William, Daniel, Doreen, Andrew, John, Joseph, James, Michael (W) and Michael (P) who she loved dearly, as well as many second and third cousins, nieces, and nephews. Eileen’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her strength will continue to inspire generations to come.
Eileen Mary Schlee is leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. At Atria, Eileen shined brightly and made friends with everyone she met. She enjoyed Eucharist on Wednesday mornings, Rosary on Friday mornings, Bingo almost every day at 2 pm, and many trips around Long Island on the independent living facility’s bus.
May Eileen Mary Schlee rest in eternal peace, free from pain, and may Eileen be remembered for the love and light she brought into the lives of others
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Good Shepherd Church 1370 Grundy Avenue, Holbrook, NY 11741, International Myeloma Foundation, St Jude’s, and Long Island Cares in Eileen Mary Schlee’s honor.
