Eileen R. Slack, 79, Page, ND passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Eileen Rita Burns was born, March 26, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John and Evelyn (Ingersol) Burns. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA and attended Gesu All Girls Catholic School. She moved to Wisconsin in 1969 where she lived with two children, Laura and Lance. She later moved to North Dakota where she met the love of her life, Jeff, in 1989. Eileen and her two girls moved with Jeff to Page, where he raised Kassy and Keithann as his own. Eileen worked as a CNA in several nursing homes including Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, ND and The Good Samaritan Home in Arthur, ND.
Eileen enjoyed crafting, spending many hours browsing various thrift stores and garage sales finding treasures and cooking large quantities of food to feed an army. Eileen spent many years caring for her grandkids and loved taking them on adventures. She was a member of the County Music Association in WI and enjoyed listening to AND singing her country music. There were times when the record player would be spinning for hours. Eileen enjoyed her many trips to the casino with Jeff and catching fish with him from the rocks at Lake Ashtabula. Eileen was always lending a hand and caring for others in the area and could spend hours upon hours visiting about anything and everything.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband: Jeff Erickson of Page, ND; daughters: Laura Lepper of Stevens Point, WI, Kassy (Steven) Thomas of Indianola, IA and Keithann (Dan) Little of Page, ND; brother: James Burns of Pembroke, NC; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren along with many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son: Lance Lepper; brothers: Donald, Robert (Bobby) and John Jr (Jackie); sisters: Anna Mae, Evelyn (Sis) and Patricia (Pat); her parents: John and Evelyn Burns and her father and mother-in-law: Lawrence and Maxine Erickson.
Visitation: Will be 5–7 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2024 with a 6:30 PM Public Prayer Service at Our Savior Luther Church in Page, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral Service: Will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, August 16, 2024 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page, ND.
Burial: Will be in the Page Cemetery in Page, ND.
