James “Jim” Wallace Slack, Jr passed away on January 27, 2026. He was proceeded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Judy Leamon (Rod), brother, Dick Slack (Cherie); sons, Tony Slack (Shannon), Justin Slack, Brandon Slack (Cece), and Jacob Slack; and grandchildren, Emma Slack, Camden Slack, Elliott Slack, and Charlie Slack.
Jim served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. He spent his professional career with HCA Healthcare, where he held several leadership roles, including CFO of Palatka Hospital, CFO of the North Florida Division in Tallahassee, Division President in Atlanta, and CEO Division President in Nashville. Jim enjoyed golf, bowling, tennis, skiing, horses, hunting, and powered paragliding. He especially liked teaching others how to water ski or snow ski and enjoyed seeing people try new things. He spent many cherished days on Lake Mystic in Florida and High Rock Lake in North Carolina with his family and friends.
Jim will be greatly remembered by his family and those that knew him.
There will be a private family service held.
