Elaine F. Boll

Elaine Boll, 84, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. She was born October 30th,1938 in Astoria Queens, NY, to Edmund and Frances Reuter (Cohn). Elaine grew up in East Rockaway with her family. She went to Centre Avenue Elementary School and graduated from East Rockaway High School. She was a lifelong resident of East Rockaway, dedicated to the community. She served three terms on the East Rockaway School Board, serving as both a board member and Vice President. Elaine was a member of the East Rockaway Village board, serving as both a trustee and Deputy Mayor. She was a founding Officer of the East Rockaway Alumni Association and 1994 ERHS Alumna of the Year, honored for her dedicated service as Alumni Association Treasurer for many years. She was a member of the ER Kiwanis Club and the ER Trade Association. She was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star, serving a term as Grand Matron in her youth. Elaine was generous, passionate, determined, and feisty. She was always willing to help a friend in need. She was an animal lover, over the years taking in cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, and gerbils that her children brought home. She loved her Yorkie Terriers, Pixie and Skooter. Elaine was a licensed property/casualty insurance broker, retiring from NGL Insurance in Lynbrook. She spent winters with her husband and their friends at Colonial Estates in Boynton Beach, Florida. She also spent time in Bethel, New York with friends from the Cherokee Preserve Club. Elaine enjoyed spending time and shopping with her best friend Barbara Schaefer. She was happiest spending time with her family. She never missed a birthday or special occasion. Most of all, she loved being Grandma or "Granny E". Elaine is widowed to high school sweetheart Richard C. Boll. They were married for 56 years. Elaine is survived by her children, Richard and his wife Mary, Brian and his wife Robin and Karen and her husband Michael; Grandchildren Daniel, Mathew, Christopher, Patrick, Lauren, Kate, Mae and Jack; her brother Robert; and loving nieces Sharon, Heather and nephew Steve. In lieu of flowers, Elaine's family has requested memorials be made to the East Rockaway Alumni Association.
