Elaine M. Varesco Camp, 82, of Chester, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 21, 2025. Born in Arnold, Pennsylvania, Elaine was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Varesco.
Elaine's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to family and community. She was a devoted homemaker, always there for her family, before opening her heart and home to babysitting children. For over 11 years, Elaine served as the cheerleading coordinator for the Harrowgate Athletic Association (HAA) in Chesterfield, where she impacted the lives of many young athletes. She later became a teaching assistant at Chester Child Development, where she dedicated 23 years to nurturing and guiding children in their early education.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Camp, daughter, Theresa McAlpine and sister Collette Natik.
She will be dearly missed by her sister, Kathleen Novakoski, brother Robert Varesco.
Perhaps her most profound role was that of a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Elaine’s life was marked by her full and joyful commitment to celebrating her growing family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her daughters, Kathleen Meng and Michelle Camp; grandchildren Brandon McAlpine, Alyssa Nunnally, Sarah Hill, Phillip Meng, Ashley Sides, Amanda Christiana; and her five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Elaine's devotion, kindness, and unconditional love touched all who knew her. Her beloved nephew shared that Elaine was the "purest and most loving soul on this Earth." She will be deeply missed, yet Heaven shines even brighter with the addition of her spirit.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at St. Ann Catholic Church at 17111 Route 1, South Chesterfield, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
