Elaine M. Clemmens, age 84, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Mayo Clinic in Barron. She was born January 27, 1940, in Knapp, Wisconsin to William and Golden (Hase) Quinn. She married Richard “Dick” Clemmens in 1959 in Wilson, Wisconsin. She worked as a store clerk in the Chetek grocery store and as “The Sample Lady” in the Chetek deli. Elaine was a huge Elvis Presley fan and was an amazing seamstress, making and designing many wedding dresses and clothing for her children. She could be considered a force of nature; keeping her house meticulously clean. She also enjoyed camping, 4 wheeling, gardening and arranging flowers.
She is survived by her husband: Dick; daughters: JoAnne (Tom) Piper, Joyce (Mark) Paulsrud and Julie Mendesh; son: Daniel (Lisa) Clemmens; siblings: Betty Booth, and Dennis Quinn; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Golden Quinn; grandchildren: Dale and Theresa; siblings: Gloria Quinn, William “Bud” Quinn, Jr., Thomas Quinn, Robert Quinn and Darlene Bliss; son-in-law: James Mendesh.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13 at 12:00 PM with a visitation from 11:00 until the time of service at the White Pine Pavillion located at 9832 Co Hwy SS.
