Elaine R. Funseth
July 23, 1935 - June 8, 2022
Elaine R. Funseth, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Heartsong Assisted Living in Belleville.
She was born on July 23, 1935, in New Glarus, WI, the daughter of Wilbert and Hulda (Heuer) Elmer. Elaine graduated from New Glarus High School in 1952. On June 6, 1954 she was united in marriage to John Funseth. Elaine would work for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for many years. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Belleville where she sang in the choir. Elaine celebrated her Swiss heritage as a Wilhelm Tell Usherette, polka dancing and playing accordion in the Rudy Burkhalter band. She loved to travel and play cards with her lady friends along with gardening and quilting.
Elaine is survived by her daughters: Beverly Funseth, Lori (Monte) Johnson, Vicki Funseth, and Joni (Dennis) Buchmann; five grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sisters: Pauline Elmer and Jean Pulver; and faithful canine companion Oscar.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI, with the Rev. Laura Kolden officiating.
A gathering of relatives and friends will precede the memorial service from 12:00 noon until time of services on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home in Belleville.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Heartsong Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to Elaine.

I´m so sorry to learn of your Mom´s passing. She and your pop were so much fun on our trip to Hawaii. My wife Rita and I were so grateful to have such great neighbors as your family. I wish you girls the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely Michael Hunter.
