Elaine M. Geniesse, 82, Suamico, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was born June 19, 1941, in Seymour, WI, daughter to the late Lloyd and Verla (Schultz) Hegner.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. Elaine had her Christmas tree up year round. When she was younger she was proud of being a nurses aide. She also rode motorcycles, snowmobiles, drove a stock car, and was a good bowler. Elaine was an avid Packer fan, and she enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with her husband, Larry.
Elaine had an infectious smile, was always upbeat, and would make anyone smile. She was simply a joy to be around.
Elaine loved being on the water. Her boating years on the "Ellie May" and the "Steel Estate"--and her home on the River.
She had too many friends to mention them all, but she cherished each and every one of them. She loved the Casino trips here and in Florida.
She cheriched the years she wintered at our home in Venice, FL, in a little community called "Colonial Manor". There she enjoyed the many trips to the beach, especially the North Jetty at Nokomis. She enjoyed the picnics, the beautiful sunsets, the dances, the pool, her bowling buddy's and shuffleboard buddy's, and the many "happy hours" shared with her Florida friends.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; daughter, Lori (Wayne) Hager; son, Larry Gordon; 2 grandchildren: Kristen Wautier and Sean Gordon; greatgranddaughter, Emersyn Wautier; sister, Mary Ann (Hezzie Leffel) Krueger; brother-in-law, Donald Barclay; 3 sisters-in-law: Patricia (Dean) Zablocki, Sharon (Larry) Delmarcel, and Barbara (Dan) Pelegrin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her 2 sisters: Rosalie Fredrickson and Vonnie Barclay.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A special thank you to Dr. Peter Fergus and Abby and Julie, along with the many doctors who have treated her along the way.
Memorials can be made in Elaine's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
