Kathleen M Geniesse, 86, of Marinette passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, surrounded by family, at the Luther Home. She was born on June 6, 1936, in Green Bay, to the late George and Dorothy (Vavrunek) Geniesse. She moved to Marinette with her family when she was a year old. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes School for all 12 years, graduating with the class of 1954. Shortly after graduation, she joined the Dominican Sisters at St. Catherine's Convent in Kenosha. She became an RN at St. Mary's in Milwaukee. She went on to school in St Louis and became a nurse Anesthetist, working at St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha. Kathleen later left the Domincan Sisters and returned to Marinette, working at both Marinette General and St. Joseph Lloyd Hospitals as a nurse anesthetist. She remained at Marinette General until she retired in 2001.
Kathleen was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Parish Altar Society, and the Adoration Chapel.
Kathleen is survived by siblings: George (Kathy) Geniesse of Kenosha, Donna (Robert) Kohlman and Richard (Sherry) Geniesse of Marinette, and John Geniesse of Eagle River. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister in law, Roland and Carolyn Geniesse.
Kathleen Family would like to thank the staff of the Luther Manor, the doctors, nurses, and staff in section B of the Luther Home, and the nurses and staff of Unity Hospice for their care and compassion.
