Deanna Joyce Engebretsen of Green Bay passed away Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born at Bellin hospital in Green Bay January 2,1960 to the late June Engebretsen. She was only 15 years old when she lost her mother. Three months later she lost her sister, Brenda. Although Deanna faced the tradedy of lossing her immedate family in her young life she never lost her zest for life. Deanna was lucky to have a caring women to step in as mom to her, Aunt Joyce. She took over and always made sure Deanna was loved and cared for. They loved each other dearly. Deanna graduated from a special program designed for people with disabilities at East High School in Madison, WI. Deanna's first job was at the University Hospital in Madison. She also work at Kewaunee County Development Center, Inc for 8 1/2 years. In her early years she enjoyed going to night clubs. She always enjoyed her young caregivers taking her out on the town. Dee also liked fishing, going out to eat, shopping and spending time with family and friends. Although Deanna was disabled she lived life to the fullest. Her little cousins always enjoyed visiting her, Aria, Jace and Sophia. Whether it was Sophia decorating her room with butterflies or Aria and Jace playing baby dolls with her. Deanna was always happy to have them spend time with her. Everyone that knew Deanna loved her. She lite up a room with her smile. She loved all the attention she could get. Deanna was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survied by her cousin Connie (Joe) Johnston, Chelsey (Erik) Engel, Cathy (David) Delebreau, Debbie (Don) Exford, Casey Johnston, Brent Guseck, Kelly and (Kevin) Mitchell, and niece Deena Fischer.
In addition to her mother, June she was preceded in death by a sister Brenda, Aunt Joyce and Uncle Ervin Guseck, Uncle Billy Engebretsen, Uncle Don and Aunt Betty Engebretsen, Uncle Kenny and Aunt Anna Engebretsen and Grandparents Birdie and William Engebretsen.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette on Saturday November 1st from 11am to 11:30. A prayer service will be held at 11:30am. Burial will be in the First Baptist Cemetery in Pound, WI.
A very special thank you to Molly Hanseter at Lakeland for her companion, support and friendship. Deanna was truly blessed. Also, a big thank you to Katie and all the staff at Hamilton House for making Deanna's last days happy ones.The family would like to thank those that have cared for and given Deanna help to live life to its fullest Bobi, Sarah, Karen, Sandi, Jackie, Terri, Doreen, Bonnie, Julie, Madison and Jordon.

worked with Deanna in the '90s. She was always smiling and was such a great person to be friends with. Deanna loved her "Walker, Texas Ranger" show and never missed a day, as far as I remember-my condolences to those who cared for her.
