Elaine M. Habermann, age 90, of Sheboygan passed away on April 28, 2025, at Sheboygan Senior Community.
She was born in Princeton, WI on November 15, 1934, to the late Walter and Eleanor (Marshall) Bornick. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School. On May 4, 1957, Elaine married John W. Habermann in Beaver Dam. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2001. Elaine was a faithful member of St. Clements Catholic Church in Sheboygan. She was an active member of P.E.O. and a past member of Altar Society, Lakeshore Women’s Club, and various other clubs and service organizations.
She enjoyed traveling, quilting, needlepoint, and all types of “fancy-work”. In her later years, she enjoyed reading and was especially thankful for Mead Public Library’s home delivery program.
Elaine felt a deep sense of pride in raising their five children and was an amazing mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Richard) McKay, Woodstock GA, John E. Habermann, Rochester MN, Michael (Patricia) Habermann, Lexington KY, Judith (Dana) Grover, Ely NV, and Thomas Habermann, Lexington KY; grandchildren, Hannah, John Maxwell, Tess, Phillip, Emily, and Grace, and eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Norbert, and Kenneth.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine will be held at NOON on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at St. Clement’s Catholic Church, 707 North 6th Street, Sheboygan. Family will greet visitors at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of mass. Elaine will be laid to rest next to John at Greendale Cemetery. For those who would like to watch the Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine virtually, can do so on Elaine’s obituary page on the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elaine’s name can be made to the American Lung Association, Sheboygan Senior Community Staff Appreciation fund, or the charity of your choice.
