Elaine Clare Helvenston 91, of Livonia, MI passed away on March 19th, 2024.

Elaine was born in Wheaton, IL on June 6th, 1932, to Gladys and John Turner Creighton.  She graduated from Newark High School in Newark, OH, and received a BS degree from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. 

Elaine married the love of her life, Rey “Til” Helvenston, on May 1st, 1954.  They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 1st of this year.

Elaine worked for several firms doing accounting work. She became a full-time Mother to raise her and Til’s three sons. She enjoyed playing Bridge, golfing, and entertaining guests in their home.  Elaine had a green thumb and loved gardening throughout the years with flowers and tomatoes being her passion.  She was also a member of and actively involved in the First Presbyterian Church of Crossville, TN.

Elaine is survived by her three adult children Mark, Eric, and Kirk (Lee Ann). Elaine leaves three grandchildren, Mark (Mariel), Lauren, and Noah; and a great-grandson, Walker.  Elaine is also survived by nieces and nephews including, Laura (Kelly), Amy, Steven, Susan (Kevin), Ben, Billy (Sarah), and David.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband Til Helvenston, her two brothers JD Creighton and Roger Creighton, and her nephew, Jimmy Creighton.   

A celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Crossville, TN on a future date.
