Elaine Catherine McErlane

Elaine Catherine McErlane, 85, of Honey Brook, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Gerard G. McErlane, sharing 64 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia on January 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine (Shulock) Sampara. Elaine graduated from St. Hubert Catholic High School in Philadelphia. Elaine went on to work as a bookkeeper for several small businesses, and she especially loved her time at County Lines Magazine. Elaine was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in West Brandywine, and enjoyed living in the Knob Hill Farm Community. Elaine loved spending quality time with her family around the dinner table, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, planting beautiful flowers in her garden, and dancing with her husband to Frank Sinatra in the kitchen, and most of all, loved keeping up with all of her grandchildren. She was a strong and caring mother, a fun and joyous grandmother, and a deeply treasured wife. Her positivity, hard work ethic, keen detailed eye, free flowing personality, confident singing voice, and infectious smile will forever be cherished.

Surviving in addition to her husband Gerard are her daughters Kimberly Garnett, wife of John, of Downingtown, PA, Janine Warner, wife of Mark, of Collegeville, PA, and Karen Schleicher, wife of John, of Barnegat, NJ; eight grandchildren John-Joseph, husband of Haley, Meghan, Kira, Maddie, Jack, Jamie, Cole and Brian; great granddaughter Maura Ann; and her brother George Sampara, husband of Virginia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville, PA 19320. Visitation will be from 9:45 – 10:45 AM prior to mass at the church. Burial will be private.
