Elaine E. Shaw, 84, of Hazelwood Road, Glocester, died Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Peter F. Shaw. They would have celebrated 46 years of marriage on September 30th.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi "Louis" and Eleanor "Helen" (Tartaglia) Iavarone. She graduated from Classical High School in 1958. Elaine worked for years for local trucking companies until finding longevity with C&E Industries. She worked as an office manager, and could run the entire company, including the drivers. She was instrumental in implementing drug testing for the drivers in her company, which led to her policies and requirements being used in drug testing procedures throughout the country. She had lived in Pawtucket before moving to Glocester in 1984 to continue to raise her family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Reagan of Johnston, and Jill Oatley of Shannock. She also had two stepsons, Peter F. Shaw, Jr. of Hilton Head, SC, and Adrien Shaw of Hilton Head, SC. She also had nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was loved by many nieces and nephews and all their children. She had many friends, and once you were her friend, you became family for life.

Elaine loved the beach, and would spend many summer days by the ocean, soaking up the sun. She loved to make memories on family vacations to the Cape and New Hampshire. In 1954, she fell in love with a boy named Elvis and continued the affair for the rest of her life, going to concerts since the age of 17. She loved being a grandmother most of all, and was affectionately known as Dolly from then on when one of her grandkids gave her the name.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10am in Our Lady of Grace, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Burial will follow in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation is respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
