Elayne Leidecker Obituary

Elayne "Muh" Leidecker, a beacon of love and light, was born on September 29, 1942, in Waxahachie, Texas to T.E. Shrader and Ellen Frances Jenkins. Her journey began in the fields of Avalon, Texas, where she lent her hands to the family farm before blossoming into the valedictorian of her high school class. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Navarro College, and from there, she embarked on a life of exploration and adventure.

In 1974, Elayne found her sanctuary in the little slice of heaven known to be Wimberley, Texas; a place she called home until October 24, 2023, when she peacefully bid farewell to this world, cradled in the loving presence of her two living sons, Scott and Quinn.

Elayne's heart was an open book, enriched by her love for literature. She reveled in the thrill of skiing and the allure of travel, gathering stories from Ireland to Spain. With a brush in hand, she transformed canvases into living, breathing works of art, exploring the realms of painting, drawing, and digital expression.

As a mother and grandmother, Elayne was the cornerstone of a beautiful legacy, showering her family with boundless affection and wisdom. Her professional journey in marketing and advertising left an indelible mark, a testament to her unwavering talent. Faith was the cornerstone of her being, finding solace and community in Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church.

Elayne's generosity extended beyond her family and faith community, as she shared her artistic gifts in productions in the Wimberley Players Club and Emily Ann Theatre, where she crafted enchanting Christmas tales in service of Saint Stephen's.

Elayne now reunites with her precious son, Cody Leidecker, in eternal embrace. She is preceded in passing by her father, T.E. Shrader, her mother, Ellen Jenkins, stepmother, Mary Frances Shrader, and brother Robert Neil.

Elayne leaves behind a loving tapestry of family. Her eldest son, Scott Leidecker (Beth), Quinn Leidecker, the youngest of her sons, and her grandchildren, Preslee Barfield (Joe), Paris Brady, Jaykip Cody Leidecker, Layton Patterson, Rowan Elayne Leidecker, and great-grandson, Harrison Barfield; all will forever cherish the immeasurable love she bestowed.

Elayne's siblings, Ted Shrader (Judy), Danny Neil (Johnia), Charlotte Wilson (Jerry), Renee Mitchell (Gary), and Annita Johnston (Randy), find consolation in the memories they hold dear. Nieces, nephews, and extended family members also join in the collective mourning.

Elayne Leidecker's departure leaves a profound void, felt by all privileged to have known and been loved by her. Her spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of those she touched, a beacon of love and light to guide them through the years ahead.

A memorial service will be held for Elayne on November 18, 2023, at 2pm, at Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church in Wimberley, Texas. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Elayne's name to Saint Stephen's Youth Ministry.

May your memories give you peace and comfort of your loved one. Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for the loss of your loved one. May GOD be with you all during this difficult time. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus.

When we moved here 17 years ago Elayne and family were some of the first we met through St Stephen´s. She was such a huge asset to our church and community. We also enjoyed her Halloween decorations and participation because of her location on the main drag for Trick or Treaters. She will be be greatly missed but I´m sure she´s in a great place now.
