September 2, 1935 – January 30, 2026
Elba Chavez Lara, was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. After retirement she enjoyed visiting casinos but her greatest passion was baseball, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers. She attended spring training in Arizona, collected autographs, and made many trips to Dodger Stadium. During baseball season, she was known for not answering the phone if the Dodgers were playing. She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed immensely. We are grateful for the time we had with her and will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her children Armando Galindo, Eva Jeanette Valenti, Alfonzo Galindo Jr., and Fernando Sanchez. She is survived by her children Gordon Galindo (Suzanne), Gina Farnsworth (Todd), Ofelia Ware (Jason), and Diane Sanchez, as well as 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on February 9, 2026, at Greenlawn, River Blvd, from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m., with a burial at 12:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on February 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Dr. In her honor, please wear your favorite baseball or sports jersey.
