Elbert Wayne "Pod" Boswell

 

Elbert Wayne “Pod” Boswell, 81, of Dyersburg, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  Born January 27, 1942, he is the son of the late Everett Dee and Rena Sykes Boswell.  Wayne worked in the Tool and Die shop at Olberg and Republic Builders.  He attended Springhill Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Greg Jordan with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. 

 

The family will receive friends Friday, December 15th beginning at 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.   

 

Trip Johnson, Parks Johnson, Will Johnson, Jackson Boswell, Mark Boswell and Paul Shell will be serving as pallbearers.  Campbell Boswell will serve her Daddy Wayne as an honorary pallbearer.

 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie Bargery Boswell; one daughter Stephanie Johnson (Dob) of Dyersburg; one son, Jason Boswell (Kelly) of Newbern; five grandchildren, Trip Johnson, Parks Johnson, Campbell Boswell, Will Johnson, Jackson Boswell; and one sister, Brenda Herr of Dyersburg.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Louise Foster, Lois Lay, Laverne Robbins, Mary Ruth Johnson, Janice Garner; and three brothers, Glen Boswell, Delbert Boswell and Bobby Boswell.

 

The family requests memorials be directed to Springhill Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association.
