Elbert "Kenny" Clark, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Kenny was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend to many. A graduate of Shawnee High School, he was a longstanding member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church. Kenny found joy in spending time with his family, especially his adored grandchildren He was a passionate UofL fan and enjoyed fishing, cars, and the game of chess, often sharing his love for the game by teaching others.
Born on August 17, 1959, in Horse Cave, Kentucky, Kenny was the son of Welby and Virginia (Woods) Clark. He is preceded in death by his father Welby Lewis Clark, mother Virginia Clark, sister Elsie Carney, brother Phillip Clark, Sr., nephew/brother Tyrone Carney, and his beloved canine companion Tina.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Karen Yvonne Clark; his daughters, Chaqunn L. Morris, Kendra M. (Donnie) Wright, and Elsie Whitney Clark; as well as his bonus daughter, Larenda J. Wright, and bonus son, Johntae Crawford. He leaves behind a legacy of love with his grandchildren: Leonna Bell, Adonnis Wright, Quillan Baines, Donnisha Smith, Quil'Shaun Baines, Ramauri Dennis, Kenyon Croomes, Jr., Da'Riyah Miller, and Nautica Sutton; and great-grandchildren: Dekel Crosby, Jr., Deontrey Pearson, Jr., Journee Sutton, Antonio Snead, Jr., and Jordyn Wilson. He is also survived by nephews Tyrone Cornelius and Phillip "Poochie" Clark, Jr., great-niece Chelsie Clark, the Woods family, and a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church (1425 Bland St., Louisville, KY 40217). The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday at the same location, followed by burial at Mount Holly Cemetery in Fairdale, Kentucky. The Repass location TBD.
